Hello 2012, It's Me

If you're reading this, you've also made it through the holidays.  (Insert the deep breath here).   I feel like this time of year I'm teetering on the edge, ready to fly.  Sometimes it feels like I'm coming out of a dream into the light.  The new year always holds so many possibilities for me.  It's as if I can start fresh about the way I think of myself and the world.  Nothing can stop me from doing the things I want to do.  No self doubt.  No boundaries.

The kids wanted to roast marshmallows in the backyard last night.  As we stood around the warmth, we talked about what we wanted for 2012.  Jonathan wants to go on a road trip to see Bryce Canyon.  I want to get the kiln we've had in our garage working.

Other than the things we want to do, I think about what I want for myself personally.  I hope this year I can love everything about myself more fully.  The good and bad. I want to live simpler, purging all the old things that don't serve me well.  I would like to continue to be with people that are uplifting and positive and open to becoming better versions of themselves.

I want to bake more.  The banana bread aroma coming from the oven right now is heavenly.

Wishing you all a wonderful year in 2012.  May we all become a bit wiser in the coming year and enjoy every moment as much as humanly possible!

  1. Beautifully said. Beautiful photos. And I love that idea...I was just thinking the one thing I want to do this year is reach out and TELL people when it is I am thinking of them. Preferably in person, maybe by letter. Even by email if that is my only option in the moment. Happy new year, Kyndale!

  4. We had our own version of New Year's fireworks in our yard, too. We roasted hot dogs, watched a movie and were in bed when the revelers rang in 2012.

I like your optimism and your plans. Best wishes for a wonderful year!

  6. Thanks everyone for your comments! I love getting comments! :)

Nicola, I agree, I would love to be able to tell people when I'm thinking about them. Quite frequently, if I'm thinking about someone, they'll call me. I think it's telepathic! :)

kitchentutor, thanks for leaving a comment! Pamela's mix is my favorite go-to mix!

kate! how are you. i'll have to click through and see. i thought you stopped blogging.

Rachael, We tried really hard to have a bonfire in the backyard for the solstice but it never happened. It feels more perfect for the new year. Our neighbors shot off real fireworks behind us at midnight. I thought someone was being shot! Crazy.
We just got your package! thank you :) Love everything. Happy New year!! ♥

Heather, I just wrote you an e-mail. No kidding, the start of your new year has been intense!! Lots of Love to you!

    1. yeah, I think I'm in a vortex. There's definitely been transformation but it's been painful. Have you ever just spoken your truth to someone and it totally felt amazing and terrible at the same time? I think that's how change feels. I think it's really cool that I can reply to individual comments now! xo
